September 2009 Using Form Search to Setup Email Alerts
An alert allows you to create email alerts that are tailored to your specific
areas of interest. Setting up email alerts will enable you to:
● Eliminate the need to check records searching for updates. ● Be able to
specify what kinds of updates you're interested in - i.e. receive news of a new patent on a drug, or a
new deal by a company, or a drug phase change. This prevents inundation of emails regarding
information of less interest. ● Helps to manage your company's time and competitive intelligence
activities in a more comprehensive and systematic way reducing the chance of missing something
important at a crucial time. ● Can comprehensively investigate your company's promising early-stage
molecule, of which little might be known other than structure information.
Example: Setting up an email alert to monitor drugs with the following
criteria:
Action – EGFR family tyrosine kinase receptor inhibitor Therapy area – lung
tumor Country – US or Japan
